Koan: Stop the Sound of the Distant Temple Bell

Dharma packaged for our Times

Monk Enō

--

(((Bonnngg))) goes a bell from far away
It does this several times a day

Your ask to stop it, yet have no clue
It’s way over there, what will you do?

Thoughts arise … destroy … cut rope … plug ears
If you keep thinking, this will take years

Koans are revealed when you don’t know
How will you make that damn bell go?

Presenting before your teacher, will surely make you quiver
But have no fear, you’re now prepared for the Fight Across the River
